A Damage Waiver is designed to relieve the renter from incurring the cost of maintenance and accidental damage to rental items while in their possession. It is NOT insurance and does not cover damage done to a rental item due to misuse, abuse or negligence. Damage Waivers are not refundable.
If you are renting from a vendor who offers a Damage Waiver (either optional or required) you must reference their specific Damage Waiver to understand what is and what is not covered.
Doable You's Damage Waiver
A required 10% Damage Waiver for rental items (excludes delivery & tax).
Client agrees to pay Company a mandatory Damage Waiver Fee in the amount of ten percent (10%) of each Rental Item’s rental price (excluding tax and delivery fees) as part of its Total Fee in lieu of property damage insurance. For this fee, Company will bear all risk of damage to the Rental Items arising from normal wear and tear. Client will remain responsible for damage caused by anything other than normal wear and tear, and all loss that occurs while Rental Items are in the possession of the Client. Upon the return of broken Rental Items or Rental Items damaged beyond normal wear and tear, or in the event Rental Items are not returned, Client will be invoiced for the replacement cost of such Rental Items, as determined by an appraiser chosen by Company. Client will bear the cost of such appraisal services. Notwithstanding the foregoing, this Damage Waiver is not applicable if Client provides Company, prior to delivery, with a certificate of insurance evidencing coverage for the full replacement value of the Rental Items with Company named as additional insured.
