Payment Policy

When Something Vintage Rentals approves your rental request, 50% of the total invoice will be processed. Full payment will be due 14 days prior to the agreed upon delivery/pickup. For reservations made within 14 days the full amount will be captured upon vendor approval. Please refer to the vendor's Cancellation Policies for refund cutoffs and amounts.

Damage Waiver

Something Vintage Rentals offers a 10% optional Damage Waiver on their rentals that can be added during checkout. Damage Waiver excludes delivery and taxes.

What is a damage waiver?

Damage Waiver

A Damage Waiver is designed to relieve the renter from incurring the cost of maintenance and accidental damage to rental items while in their possession. It is NOT insurance and does not cover damage done to a rental item due to misuse, abuse or negligence. Damage Waivers are not refundable.

If you are renting from a vendor who offers a Damage Waiver (either optional or required) you must reference their specific Damage Waiver to understand what is and what is not covered.

Something Vintage Rentals's Damage Waiver

An optional 10% Damage Waiver for rental items (excludes delivery & tax).

CLIENT CARE OF PROPERTY: Client recognizes that the Property is owned by SV and shall at all times protect, at Client’s own cost and expense, the Property from any damage. Client shall use all Property in a careful and proper manner and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Client shall return the Property in the same condition as it was received, without any alterations, additions, or improvements, and Client assumes all risk of loss and damage to the Property from any cause whatsoever. a.China, flatware, glassware, and teacups MAY NOT be used in an automatic dishwasher, placed in a microwave, or heated in any way. b.China, flatware, glassware, and teacups must be hand-rinsed with potable water, wiped free of ALL food/ beverage remnants, and dried after use. c.China, flatware, glassware, and teacups must be repacked for return in the manner in which they were received (in milk crates with cushioning on the bottom to ensure that the items cannot move). d.Client agrees to protect the Property from rain, snow, and inclement weather at all times and to secure the Property when not in use. e.Client agrees to pay a Two Hundred Fifty Dollar ($250) cleaning fee per line item in addition to any fees for damage if Client fails to clean, pack, or otherwise care for the Property as specified. At SV’s option and sole discretion, damage fees are calculated as either (i) the cost of repair or (ii) five (5) times the Rental Cost for the damaged Property. f.Client shall only entrust the Property to unauthorized employees of SV and shall require reasonable identification from such employee. Surrender of Property to SV employee shall not be deemed acceptance of Property without damage. g.Notwithstanding the damages above, Client, Client may elect to pay an OPTIONAL DAMAGE INSURANCE of ten percent (10%) of the Rental Cost (“Damage Insurance”). If Client elects Damage Insurance, said election shall be made at execution of this Agreement. As a result, SV will waive its right to recover from Client all amounts in excess of the Damage Insurance for the retail cost required to repair or replace rented items which are damaged or destroyed while in customer’s possession, provided Client immediately notifies SV of any accident, loss or damage. Damage Insurance is not refundable. Damage Insurance is secondary to Client’s own insurance and Client agrees to exercise all rights available under Client’s insurance coverage and assign all claims and proceeds from insurance coverage to SV. If damaged items are not returned, proof of damaged items must be established, and such other evidence as SV may reasonably require. Damage Insurance is not coverage for damage due to neglect or misuse. (Example: Rented Items left out in the rain uncovered and unprotected) Damage Insurance does not waive liability for loss caused by neglect, abuse, vandalism, theft, mysterious or unexplained disappearance, damage due to weather, or shortages. Client agrees to furnish, upon request, a written and signed police report filed by customer with respect to such occurrence.
